As you prepare your talk at Souly Business please utilize the following essential points in your message and mold your personal and business stories around these points. To maintain the essence of the talk, you may also include a slide for each of these points in your talk. Thank you.
Faith and Work- Do they Mix?
- God can be glorified through our work life as much as through our church life…maybe more.
- Serving others and performing with excellence at work glorifies God and gives Christians credibility
- You may be the only Christian your co-workers know…share your faith by sharing your story.
- We are all in “full-time ministry” in whatever vocation God has placed us.
Discussion- Do you see what you do in the marketplace through the lens of faith? What does that look like?
Priority
- Priority- Something that merits attention before competing alternatives.
- Our true Priority is revealed within our calendar and checkbook.
- We have the power to choose our priority…though there may be a cost.
Discussion- What is your priority? How does that look in your life?
Identity
- Identity- Whatever gives us purpose, belonging, and worth.
- Culture creates a performance-based system for defining our identity and worth
- Identity and worth through circumstances (professional, financial, athletic) will eventually disappoint.
- God sees your worth through your relationship as His adopted son (Ephesians 1:5)
Discussion- From what do you derive your identity and worth?
Servant Leadership
- Servant Leadership- A philosophy and practice that enrich the lives of individuals, builds better and lasting organizations, and creates a more just and caring world (Robert K. Greenleaf, 1970).
- Origin of Servant Leadership…
Jesus knew that the Father had given Him authority over everything
He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciple’s feet
He explained that this was an example for us to follow by serving one another (John 13)
- Servant Leadership is rooted in Love. It begins in your home and extends into the marketplace
Discussion- Do you consider yourself a servant leader? Why or why not?
The Cross
- Part I of the Gospel. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live…(Galatians 2:20)
- God’s call is for you to die daily to those items identified on your card (Luke 9:23)
Discussion- (Sunday morning) What did you experience last night?
The Resurrection
- Part II of the Gospel. …but Christ lives in me. (Galatians 2:20)
- God produces fruit. His life in you allows you to bear fruit. (John 15:5)
- The fruit God produces in you is personal and unique
Discussion- What might “bearing fruit” look like in your life?
Finishing Well
- A life of intimacy with Christ
- A life of accountability with other Christian men
- A legacy of honoring God in future generations
